Scroll layout

With the scroll layout, the entire question flow appears on a single page. It's ideal for mobile users, who can move through questions much like scrolling through a social media feed.

  • Open your Digital Assistant in Conversation Studio and go to the Design tab.
  • Open Experience Designer.
  • Select the Flow step component on the canvas:

When the Flow step component is selected, its settings are available on right.

Use these toggles to configure scroll layout:

  • Show previous questions - This toggle allows users to view previously answered questions on the same page.
  • Show upcoming question - This option only appears if "Show previous questions" is enabled and shows the next question right after the current one.

Enable scroll layout on mobile only​

To set up scroll layout only for mobile, you can detach the mobile view from the main theme in Experience Designer. This allows desktop users to see questions on separate pages while mobile users can scroll through.

  • Click the mobile icon above the canvas in Experience Designer.
  • Open the dropdown and select Detach device from main theme.
  • Select the flow step and enable the scroll layout toggles as described earlier.

This will affect only the mobile view. When you switch to desktop or tablet, you’ll be able to design a different layout for those views.
