About Zoovu ontology
An ontology in the Zoovu Data Platform organizes your product attributes into a structured system that understands the relationships between them. In this process, your product data becomes more than just raw information — it’s easier to manage, search, and present to customers. For example, you might have product categories like "Laptop" and "Smartphone," both connected by the relationship that they are: "Electronics."
An ontology in Zoovu's data platform is a structured set of attribute concepts and value concepts derived from your product data. It’s like a blueprint that categorizes your products and their attributes, making it easier to manage, search, and use this data across various platforms.
What are attributes?
Product attributes serve different purposes:
- They could answer questions like, "Do you prefer Windows or macOS?"
- They might determine compatibility, such as whether a case fits a specific smartphone model.
- They can act as search filters like "Show me laptops with at least 16GB RAM" or be part of ranking strategies to prioritize certain products.
