Map answers to products
Zoovu evaluates customer responses and selections to generate tailored product recommendations. Mapping links specific customer answers or choices to corresponding products in your catalog.
For product recommendations, only the products that align with the customer's choices will appear as fully matching. Alternatives, which partially match, are shown based on how closely they align with the customer’s selections.
Configure mapping rules
- Select a Digital Assistant and go to its Flow settings.
- Select a question. Navigate to the answer settings in the Question Bank.
- For each answer, click on the "Edit recommendation logic" setting.
- Choose a product attribute that the recommendation will be based on. This could be something like product color, size, or a specific feature belonging to a set of your products.
-
After selecting the element, choose or type the value. You can type the value or select it from the available options.
-
The comparison operator defines how the selected element and value are compared. Common operators include "equals," "greater than," or "contains."
-
To add multiple rules for more specific product recommendations. Click the "+ Rule" button to add more rules.
-
Click "Apply" to save the rule.
Group rules to match customer preferences
Grouping rules helps you apply multiple conditions together. For example, you can set up a group that recommends only products that are energy-efficient and eco-friendly. Use the group relation operator (ALL/ANY) to define whether all conditions must be met or just any one of them.
Multi-choice answers or options
To configure mapping for multi-choice answers or options:
- Access the settings
- Click the "Recommendation logic" icon next to the answer or option
- Define the product mapping rules. Select an attribute and then set the attribute's value. For example, if the customer may need a lot of RAM to perform the tasks they selected, set the "RAM" attribute to "equal or greater than 8".
Slider answers and options
For slider questions, the mapping uses the "Match values" option to recommend products that align with customer-specified attributes. For example, if a customer selects a specific age range, the system will recommend age-appropriate products.
Mapping in filters
When using filters, the mapping removes products that don't match the selected filter from the recommendations page as customers adjust the filter values.
Mapping in Bundle Assistants
In a Bundle Assistant, recommendations are generated for each category, and products from matching categories are shown on the recommendations page. Mapping for slider questions happens automatically across all categories.
Tips for mapping logic
- If the mapping rule value is left empty, the rule will be saved but won't be applied since there's no value to map.
- After uploading a new catalog, always review your mapping logic. If column names change, it can disrupt mapping and lead to incorrect product recommendations.
- If mandatory columns are changed or missing when you're uploading a new catalog, you might see an error message (e.g. There are columns that need to be mapped.). Make sure to to check the mapping logic after uploading a new catalog. Red dots next to answers indicate that you need to adjust the mapping:
