Configure sort order
Answer-based sorting rules in Zoovu allow you to define products' sorting order in the matching and alternative product sections of the results page. These rules come into play when a specific answer is provided by the customer and take precedence over the default sorting settings.
For example, if the user selects an answer like "I’d like a cheaper option," you can prioritize price sorting. All default sorting rules will still apply after the answer-based sorting.
Answer-based sorting rules are not available for multiple-choice questions.
Create an answer-based sorting rule
Go to the question bank and select the question and answer you want the rule to apply to. In the sorting criteria section, click the +SORTING RULE button. Define the attribute to sort by and whether it should be in ascending or descending order. For example, if the answer is "I am a traditionalist," you can sort products by category in descending order.
- Click 'Apply' to save your changes. (Note: This will apply all changes made in the recommendation logic section, not just sorting.)
If there are multiple products in the same category, you can add additional rules, like sorting by price.
Edit sorting rules
When you open a question in the question bank, you will see all existing sorting criteria.
Change the order of rules
To rearrange rules, click the movement icon next to a rule and drag it. This changes the order in which products are sorted.
Adding rules
You can add another sorting level by clicking the +SORTING RULE button.
Deleting rules
To remove a rule, click the trash icon next to it.
After making any changes, click Apply to save or Discard changes to undo the edits.
How different rules interact
Rules related to the same answer are applied in the order they’re listed. For example, if the rule says to sort by category, then by price, and finally by women-specific products, the system will prioritize these attributes in that order.
If a rule in a later question involves sorting by the same attribute as a previous rule, the previous rule will be ignored.
Example:
-
Answer 1 sorting rule:
- Category: descending
- Price: ascending
-
Answer 2 sorting rule (applied later):
- Manufacturer: ascending
- Price: descending
In this case, products will be sorted by category, then by manufacturer, and finally by price.
Additional rules
In some cases, you may want more control over the order of recommendations or alternative products. You can use bias rules to promote products with specific attributes, such as brand or color, to the top of the list. You can also filter recommendations to prevent duplicates or irrelevant products.
